CREATIVITY

in the classroom

"Creativity and innovation are becoming increasingly important for the development of the 21st century knowledge society. They contribute to economic prosperity as well as to social and individual wellbeing and are essential factors for a more competitive and dynamic Europe. Education is seen as central in fostering creative and innovative skills" (Ferrari, A., Cachia, R., & Punie, Y., 2009). Thus, this training course is focused on providing you with all the tools to boost creativity in your classroom. 

Description

COURSE METHODOLOGY

Our courses, developed in the framework established by the Erasmus+ Programme, are crafted to include both formal and non-formal education methodologies. Starting with a theoretical approach to the theme of the course, we proceed with non-formal learning strategies in order to guarantee and stimulate an active contribution from the participants involved. In practice, we use:

 

Presentations; Analysis of study cases; Discussions in the classroom; Role-plays; Technical visits to local private and public institutions; Conferences with local professionals to exchange good practices; Job shadowing experiences; Workshops to rethink old practices and introduce new ones.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Raise awareness on the importance of creativity in education;

  • Explore and discover the benefits bough about by the use of creative methods in education where they have been applied;

  • Help participants aknowledge all the methodologies to foster creativity in education;

  • Furnish tools to apply creativity methods into a curriculum;

  • Create a cross-cultural exchange and understanding with their foreign colleagues.

SCHEDULE

Day 1 – Arrival

  • Participants will be transferred to their accommodation in Avezzano

 

Day 2 – Introduction

  • Make room for visual reflection 

  • The psychology of creativity

  • Visit in local school 

 

Day 3 – Visual Creativity

  • Make room for visual reflection 

  • Hands-on learning 

 

Day 4 – Learning Material

  • Classrooms flexible layout 

  • Unconventional learning material 

  • Visit in local school 

 

Day 5 – The Learning Space

  • Discussions 

  • CLS (Collaborative Learning Spaces) 

 

Day 6 – Try it Out

  • Visualization of GOALS and team building 

  • Renovate your classroom, Conclusions & Evaluations 

 

Day 7 – Departure day

  • Departure of participants
